About

Living a Jewish life is a process, a process of being schooled, of learning and re-learning, of accepting and rejecting, of wonderment and perplexity. As much as a spiritual and emotional journey, it is an intellectual exercise in dialectical reasoning covering all aspects of life, from the most complex to the most mundane. Jew Schooled is a place to ruminate about the traditions, rules, philosophies, and debates that affect all Jews, but especially Jews-in-the-making, like me. The writings I have put here reflect my interests and curiosities about Judaism and my struggles and challenges in being a Member of the Tribe. Some of the words here are my own, some are borrowed from more authoritative sources or established texts. Some posts are reference materials that have been useful to my Jewish literacy and are helpful to have in one place. I invite you to join me and witness my journey. Even better, feel free to comment, add your point of view, and Jew School-me-up.

  1. I think Judaism is incredibly fascinating! I stumbled upon your blog via conducting a bit of independent research on the religion, and I am absolutely astounded by all of the information I’m discovering. There are so many facets; it’s completely thrilling to learn about Judaism!
